When a board-topper like Moose Muhammad III slides to the 184th pick, you do not overthink it, and the Vikings did not. More right than wrong, and a B to match.
If Randolph Jr. pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. They punted on quarterback, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.
A small leak at the table, if not a fatal one. They left with edge rusher solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
Pick-by-Pick
A tidy little value on Laiatu Latu in the Round 1 slot, a step better than break-even. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
DeWayne Carter in pick 108 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Keith Randolph Jr.. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Isaiah Davis at the 165th overall pick is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
A top-tier offensive lineman at a bargain, Javion Cohen in pick 173, plain and simple. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Edefuan Ulofoshio at pick No. 179 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Moose Muhammad III in No. 184 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
A straight-up fair deal on Justin Walley at the Round 6 slot, value and slot in agreement. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Circle this one: Andru Phillips at slot 197 is a fall that decides a draft. A want dressed up as a pick, at a spot they had covered.
A offensive lineman of that caliber at Round 7, Pick 10 is the definition of value, full stop. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Jawhar Jordan at the Round 7 slot is money in the bank, a running back taken below his worth. The roster fit checks out.
