Thirty-one other rooms let Nohl Williams slide, and the Raiders were the ones holding the card at the 218th pick. Highway robbery. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B-.
The Hamilton pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. The quarterback hole is the one line item this class does not answer.
Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 6 they get a load in the middle. A clean fit for the roster.
A reach for JT Tuimoloau in the Round 2 slot; a little patience would have been rewarded. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Demetrius Knight Jr. at Round 3, Pick 4 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Devin Neal slipping to the 94th pick is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Good price on Pat Bryant in No. 144, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
They liked Joshua Gray enough to skip the value, taking him in pick 182. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
They reached into another round for Ty Hamilton, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Nohl Williams at the 218th overall pick is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
