The Raiders did not reach, did not trade up, did not blink. They just waited, and Xavier Legette fell into pick 68.
The Paul pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain.
A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
Pick-by-Pick
A tidy little value on Bo Nix in pick No. 34, a step better than break-even. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
They reached into another round for Patrick Paul, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
T.J. Tampa at pick 57 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Xavier Legette at No. 68 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Christian Mahogany in the 77th pick is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Khyree Jackson in the Round 3 slot is fair value, right on his grade. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
They jumped the gun on Braelon Allen, taking him earlier than his grade liked. It fills a real need, too.
