After circling the position for what felt like forever, the Vikings committed. Jayden Daniels is the quarterback now, and the roster gets built to his timeline. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B.
Every board in the league had Eboigbe lower, and that gap is the story. That is a cornerback worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. They punted on safety, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.
Good work on the whole, with safety the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 11 they get the arm they will build around. The biggest hole, addressed.
Terrion Arnold in No. 42 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. It adds depth where they could use a little.
You do not let a wide receiver like Johnny Wilson reach the 108th overall pick and blink. They did not. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Justin Eboigbe. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Jaylen Harrell at the 148th pick is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Jordan Travis at Round 5, Pick 27 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
They left a pile of value on the table to take Michael Barrett this early at pick 164. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
A top-tier cornerback at a bargain, Jaylin Simpson in the Round 6 slot, plain and simple. Nice player, but the depth chart did not need him here.
A real head-scratcher, Edefuan Ulofoshio in pick No. 230 is miles ahead of his ranking. A luxury on a unit that was already in good shape.
