After circling the position for what felt like forever, the Raiders committed. Jayden Daniels is the quarterback now, and the roster gets built to his timeline.
The Smith-Wade value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. Leaving wide receiver unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. Perry has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced.
The trade work was a quiet net positive.
Good work on the whole, with wide receiver the one box left unchecked.

Dallas Turner in pick 34 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
T'Vondre Sweat at slot 66 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Zak Zinter at pick No. 112. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Value with a capital V on Cedric Gray in the 150th overall pick, a genuine coup. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Chau Smith-Wade at the Round 6 slot is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
A premium they did not need to pay, Mark Perry a notch or two before his time. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
