The one hole that towered over the rest is filled. The Raiders spent their marquee pick on Jayden Daniels, and for the first time in a while there is a real answer at quarterback. More right than wrong, and a B to match.
That Barrett pick is the receipt they will wave around later. For all the activity, wide receiver went untouched, which is hard to explain. Job largely done: edge rusher settled and 4 of 8 of the wish list covered.
Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 13th pick they get their guy under center for the next decade. A clean fit for the roster.
Chris Braswell in pick No. 44 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
A clean, defensible pick in pick 77 with a little surplus value in Junior Colson. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Khyree Jackson slid further than he should have, and slot 113 is lovely value for the cornerback. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Javon Foster at No. 147 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
LaDarius Henderson at the Round 6 slot is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Somehow Michael Barrett was still sitting there in Round 7, Pick 1, and they pounced on premier linebacker value. Stacking talent where they were already deep.
Tarheeb Still in the 231st overall pick is a gift, value that borders on unfair. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
