Somebody in the 182nd pick was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Raiders sat still while Jalen Milroe, the No. 101 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium. It does the job without flash, and the B reflects it.
The phones were where this weekend was really won. Leaving edge rusher unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.
The Dak Prescott pickup adds a known quantity to a class of unknowns.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 6 they get a wrecking ball inside. A clean fit for the roster.
They will replay Tetairoa McMillan at the Round 2 slot for years; that is how good the value is. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Jihaad Campbell in the 68th overall pick should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. It adds depth where they could use a little.
You do not let a running back like TreVeyon Henderson reach No. 73 and blink. They did not. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Circle this one: Darien Porter at the 107th pick is a fall that decides a draft. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Steal is underselling it; Cam Skattebo at slot 144 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Taking Jalen Milroe in Round 6, Pick 4 is close to grand larceny; a quarterback that good had no business lasting this long. A need, and now a little less of one.
Dont'e Thornton Jr. in pick No. 214 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Donovan Edwards in Round 6, Pick 40 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
