The Eagles went off the board in a big way for Beaux Limmer, 40 picks early. Conviction is one thing; this is another.
They won the margins on every swap, and it adds up fast. That Simpson pick is the receipt they will wave around later. Leaving interior defensive lineman unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but interior defensive lineman.
Pick-by-Pick
Jonah Elliss in pick No. 50 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
They took Edgerrin Cooper at par in the 54th overall pick, which is nothing to complain about. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
They robbed the room for Malachi Corley here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Beaux Limmer at slot 104 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. It fills a real need, too.
Ben Sinnott at the Round 5 slot is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Isaiah Davis in pick 163 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Jaylin Simpson in the Round 5 slot is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
A slide stopped in slot 178, with Grayson Murphy worth more than the price. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
A clean, defensible pick in pick No. 243 with a little surplus value in Nathaniel Watson. They doubled down on a strength rather than a need.
