Every other box got a look, but edge rusher did not. The Eagles will head to camp with the same hole they walked in with. The bottom line is a respectable B.
The Allen value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. The skill positions did well by the weekend.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the edge rusher spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 22nd pick they get a home-run threat at receiver. Exactly the need they had to hit.
A quiet steal in Round 2, Pick 18: T.J. Tampa for less than the market said. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Ja'Tavion Sanders at the Round 2 slot is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A need, and now a little less of one.
They did well to land Sedrick Van Pran in pick 97, just ahead of his grade. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
A tidy bit of business in No. 137, where Will Shipley graded well above the range. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
They let Braelon Allen come to them and pounced at the 163rd overall pick. The roster fit checks out.
Andru Phillips at slot 172 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
A market-rate linebacker, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Michael Barrett. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Mark Perry at pick 243. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
