Somebody in pick No. 165 was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Eagles sat still while Cam Skattebo, the No. 113 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium. It does the job without flash, and the B reflects it.
Leaving cornerback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. On the needs board they went 6 of 9, with edge rusher the one that mattered most.
In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 30 they get a plug-and-play piece up front. A real need, handled.
Steal is underselling it; Nick Emmanwori at the 62nd overall pick is a heist with the alarm still ringing. The roster fit checks out.
A tight end of that caliber at No. 94 is the definition of value, full stop. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Oronde Gadsden II at Round 4, Pick 31 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It fills a real need, too.
Circle this one: Jordan Burch at the 160th pick is a fall that decides a draft. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
They barely believed it either: Rylie Mills still on the board at the Round 5 slot. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Somehow Cam Skattebo was still sitting there in slot 165, and they pounced on premier running back value. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
