The rest of the league will want that one back. Jeffrey Bassa tumbling to the Raiders in the Round 6 slot is a gift they did not have to think twice about.
They won the margins on every swap, and it adds up fast. The edge rusher hole is the one line item this class does not answer. They will need Simpkins III to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.
Pick-by-Pick
The board fumbled Luther Burden III all the way to Round 2, Pick 5, and they scooped it up. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
A straight-up fair deal on Quinshon Judkins at pick No. 68, value and slot in agreement. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Alfred Collins at slot 73 is money in the bank, a interior defensive lineman taken below his worth. The roster fit checks out.
By-the-book stuff, Denzel Burke at the 90th overall pick squarely in line with his ranking. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
No drama and no debate, Will Howard went about where he belonged in No. 107. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
They let Emery Jones Jr. come to them and pounced at pick 144. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Jeffrey Bassa in the Round 6 slot is a gift, value that borders on unfair. It adds depth where they could use a little.
They barely believed it either: Quincy Riley still on the board at the 214th pick. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Zeek Biggers in Round 6, Pick 40 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
A big swing on Torricelli Simpkins III at slot 224, well ahead of any board in the building. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
