The search is over. The Raiders handed the keys to Michael Penix Jr., and the whole operation now runs on his development. A dependable weekend that grades out a B.
The Harden pick is the one they will point to when this weekend is judged. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up. On the needs board they went 5 of 8, with cornerback the one that mattered most.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.

Tyrone Tracy Jr. in the 148th overall pick is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
They barely believed it either: Isaiah Davis still on the board at pick No. 208. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Myles Harden at pick 223 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Darius Muasau at Round 7, Pick 9 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
