You can hear the double-takes from here. The Eagles took Brandon Coleman at Round 4, Pick 20, roughly 65 spots before his name belonged.
Fisher at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. The interior defensive lineman spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.
Small wins on the phones, but wins all the same. They left with cornerback solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
Good work on the whole, with interior defensive lineman the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 22 they get a lockdown presence outside. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
They took Edgerrin Cooper at par in the 50th pick, which is nothing to complain about. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
A wide receiver of that caliber at slot 88 is the definition of value, full stop. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
They did well to land Jonah Elliss in the Round 3 slot, just ahead of his grade. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Brandon Coleman at pick No. 120 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Circle this one: Blake Fisher at pick 161 is a fall that decides a draft. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Kendall Milton at No. 171 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
They liked Jordan Magee enough to skip the value, taking him in the 210th pick. It is more luxury than necessity; they were already set here.
