This is the pick they will still be bragging about in July: Kalel Mullings, the No. 115 name on the board, stolen at the Round 6 slot. More right than wrong, and a B to match.
They have staked the next five years on Shedeur Sanders, which is the only story that really matters here. For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain.
A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 6th pick they get their guy under center for the next decade at fair value. A real need, handled.
Taking Nick Emmanwori in No. 37 is close to grand larceny; a safety that good had no business lasting this long. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Jihaad Campbell in pick No. 68 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
A clean, defensible pick in No. 73 with a little surplus value in Deone Walker. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Donovan Jackson at the 107th overall pick is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
They will replay Savion Williams at the 144th pick for years; that is how good the value is. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Kalel Mullings in Round 6, Pick 4 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Circle this one: Dorian Strong at pick 214 is a fall that decides a draft. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Steal is underselling it; Chase Lundt at slot 218 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Woody Marks at the Round 7 slot is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
