Arizona Cardinals

The Cardinals did the meat-and-potatoes work well: B-.

Every other box got a look, but quarterback did not. The Cardinals will head to camp with the same hole they walked in with.

Thomas Jr. falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. Sanders has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced.

Wide receiver is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.4 · Pick 4 · Joe Alt · OT · rank 3
In the 4th overall pick they get a cornerstone up front. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
R1.21 · Pick 21 · Terrion Arnold · CB · rank 22
In slot 21 they get a potential shutdown corner at fair value. More want than need.
R2.3 · Pick 35 · Brian Thomas Jr. · WR · rank 21
A tidy bit of business in No. 35, where Brian Thomas Jr. graded well above the range. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
R3.2 · Pick 66 · Adisa Isaac · DE-EDGE · rank 69
A straight-up fair deal on Adisa Isaac at pick No. 66, value and slot in agreement. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
R3.7 · Pick 71 · Byron Murphy II · DL · rank 72
No drama and no debate, Byron Murphy II went about where he belonged in Round 3, Pick 7. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
R3.22 · Pick 85 · Sedrick Van Pran · C · rank 92
Sedrick Van Pran in pick 85 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
R4.4 · Pick 104 · Tommy Eichenberg · LB · rank 110
By-the-book stuff, Tommy Eichenberg at the 104th pick squarely in line with his ranking. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
R4.33 · Pick 133 · Ray Davis · RB · rank 124
Value with a capital V on Ray Davis in the Round 4 slot, a genuine coup. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
R5.4 · Pick 140 · Nehemiah Pritchett · CB · rank 132
Nehemiah Pritchett slipping to pick 140 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. A luxury on a unit that was already in good shape.
R6.13 · Pick 188 · T.J. Sanders · DT · rank 204
They liked T.J. Sanders enough to skip the value, taking him in No. 188. The roster fit checks out.
R7.5 · Pick 225 · Omar Speights · LB · rank 213
A slide stopped in pick No. 225, with Omar Speights worth more than the price. A need, and now a little less of one.
R7.7 · Pick 227 · Miles Frazier · OG · rank 236
A reach on Miles Frazier in the 227th overall pick; the board had better options right there. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
