The Cardinals did not reach, did not trade up, did not blink. They just waited, and Ricky Pearsall fell into No. 224.

They will answer for taking cornerback early while quarterback, tight end and other spots went begging. That quarterback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.

They are betting Jackson proves the room right and everyone else wrong. On the needs board they went 5 of 8, with wide receiver the one that mattered most.

In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
