Arizona Cardinals

Best value of the weekend goes to the Cardinals for Wilson: B.

This is the pick they will still be bragging about in July: Johnny Wilson, the No. 75 name on the board, stolen at Round 4, Pick 4. A dependable weekend that grades out a B.

The Sainristil pick is fine in a vacuum, less so with edge rusher and interior defensive lineman still on the board. They are betting Ulofoshio proves the room right and everyone else wrong.

A whole weekend of picks and edge rusher is somehow still a want.

In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.4 · Pick 4 · Malik Nabers · WR · rank 4
By-the-book stuff, Malik Nabers at pick 4 squarely in line with his ranking. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
R1.27 · Pick 27 · Troy Fautanu · OT · rank 28
In Round 1, Pick 27 they get an anchor for the offensive line. The biggest hole, addressed.
R2.3 · Pick 35 · Quinyon Mitchell · CB · rank 30
Nothing to complain about; Quinyon Mitchell went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
R3.2 · Pick 66 · Blake Corum · RB · rank 74
A reach on Blake Corum in the Round 3 slot; the board had better options right there. The roster fit checks out.
R3.7 · Pick 71 · Kingsley Suamataia · OT · rank 53
Kingsley Suamataia at No. 71 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
R3.27 · Pick 90 · Mike Sainristil · CB · rank 82
Hard to square with the roster. With positions of obvious need still on the board, Mike Sainristil adds a cornerback and leaves edge rusher and interior defensive lineman untouched.
R4.4 · Pick 104 · Johnny Wilson · WR · rank 75
Somehow Johnny Wilson was still sitting there in the 104th pick, and they pounced on premier wide receiver value. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
R4.33 · Pick 133 · Edefuan Ulofoshio · LB · rank 156
Edefuan Ulofoshio at the 133rd overall pick is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
R5.4 · Pick 140 · Malik Washington · WR · rank 119
They will replay Malik Washington at the 140th overall pick for years; that is how good the value is. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
R6.13 · Pick 188 · Austin Stogner · TE · rank 199
Austin Stogner at pick No. 188 is a conviction pick that outran the value. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
R7.5 · Pick 225 · Taulia Tagovailoa · QB · rank 227
A straight-up fair deal on Taulia Tagovailoa at slot 225, value and slot in agreement. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
R7.7 · Pick 227 · Darius Muasau · LB · rank 223
Darius Muasau in No. 227 lands just on the right side of the ledger. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
