Grand theft in pick 225: the Cardinals steal Magee and grade out a C.

The trade table was where it all came apart. The Cardinals shipped out far more than they hauled back, and no amount of spin dresses up the bill.
However the rest shakes out, Magee at that price is a win they earned. With quarterback, edge rusher and other spots unsolved, spending premium capital on TE-EDGE is the choice that costs them. They punted on quarterback, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.
If Joe Alt and a couple of the gambles land, hindsight will be kinder than this grade.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 4 they get a cornerstone up front. The biggest hole, addressed.
In Round 1, Pick 20 they get a ballhawk on the outside at fair value. Need was not the driver here.
They paid up for T'Vondre Sweat at No. 51 when waiting would have done the job. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
A curious use of the 90th overall pick. Quarterback, edge rusher and other spots needed the pick; a TE-EDGE in Cade Stover did not.
Bucky Irving at pick No. 104 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. The roster fit checks out.
Kamal Hadden in the Round 5 slot is fair value, right on his grade. They doubled down on a strength rather than a need.
You do not let a linebacker like Jordan Magee reach pick No. 225 and blink. They did not. It fills a real need, too.
Jha'Quan Jackson is a better player than the 227th overall pick suggests; smart patience, rewarded. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
