Somewhere a scout is still blinking. The Cardinals spent the 227th overall pick on Desmond Evans, a name the board had a full 46 spots lower. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B.
The Neyor pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch. They punted on interior defensive lineman, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.
In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 4 they get a home-run threat at receiver. Exactly the need they had to hit.
In No. 21 they get a ballhawk on the outside at fair value. More want than need.
Graham Barton in pick 35 is fair value, right on his grade. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
A slide stopped in the 66th overall pick, with Calen Bullock worth more than the price. It adds depth where they could use a little.
They took Payton Wilson at par in Round 3, Pick 7, which is nothing to complain about. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
A conviction pick on Zak Zinter at pick No. 85 that the board grades a round light. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Fair-plus on Spencer Rattler, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Jaheim Bell in slot 133 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It fills a real need, too.
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Keith Randolph Jr. well ahead of where he belonged. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
A straight-up fair deal on Miyan Williams at No. 188, value and slot in agreement. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Isaiah Neyor at pick No. 225 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Desmond Evans. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
