Nobody else had Tanner Mordecai anywhere near pick No. 225. The Cardinals did, by 79 spots, and that gap is the whole story. More right than wrong, and a B- to match.
It is not that Hart is a bad player; it is that the Cardinals had louder needs to answer first. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through tight end. That is a cornerback worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly.
Job largely done: quarterback settled and 7 of 8 of the wish list covered.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but tight end.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 4th overall pick they get a weapon on the perimeter. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
In the Round 1 slot they get a cornerstone up front, though they paid up to get him. Exactly the need they had to hit.
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for T'Vondre Sweat. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Kris Abrams-Draine in the 66th pick is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. A minor itch, scratched.
Fair-plus on Adisa Isaac, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.

They jumped the gun on Miles Frazier, taking him earlier than his grade liked. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
