Call it larceny. Jordan Magee sat on the board until pick 227, and the Cardinals did not need to be asked twice.
If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through tight end. Quarterback was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job. Almost all the early capital went to that side of the ball.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 4 they get a difference-maker at receiver. The biggest hole, addressed.
In the 26th overall pick they get juice off the edge at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Tyler Guyton at the 35th pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
A market-rate cornerback, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Caelen Carson. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
A straight-up fair deal on Trey Benson at No. 71, value and slot in agreement. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Johnny Wilson in slot 89 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
A top-tier offensive lineman at a bargain, Cooper Beebe in the Round 4 slot, plain and simple. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Justin Eboigbe slid further than he should have, and pick No. 133 is lovely value for the edge rusher. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Isaiah Adams at the 140th pick. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
By-the-book stuff, Christian Jones at slot 188 squarely in line with his ranking. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Taulia Tagovailoa in the Round 7 slot lands just on the right side of the ledger. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Somehow Jordan Magee was still sitting there in pick 227, and they pounced on premier linebacker value. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
