The rest of the league will want that one back. Jordan James tumbling to the Raiders in the Round 6 slot is a gift they did not have to think twice about.
Cam Ward gives the offense a face and a plan, and the grade leans heavily on whether he hits. For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain. They will need Vinson to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it.
They left with cornerback solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 6 they get a franchise quarterback at fair value. A real need, handled.
A slide stopped in the 37th pick, with Kenneth Grant worth more than the price. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
No edge and no loss on Cameron Williams in the Round 3 slot; it is a wash and a sensible one. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Savion Williams in Round 4, Pick 6 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Lathan Ransom in the 143rd overall pick is a gift, value that borders on unfair. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Jordan James at No. 180 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Carson Vinson in pick No. 213 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Bhayshul Tuten at the 215th pick is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
They barely believed it either: Quincy Riley still on the board at pick 222. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
