They finally answered the question that shadows every other one. Cam Ward is the Raiders' quarterback, full stop.
That Henderson pick is the receipt they will wave around later. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up. Cornerback was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
Good work on the whole, with edge rusher the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
They paid sticker price for Cam Ward in the Round 1 slot, and that is fine. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
They barely believed it either: Nick Emmanwori still on the board at No. 37. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
By-the-book stuff, Jayden Higgins at pick No. 68 squarely in line with his ranking. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
The board had Denzel Burke higher than the 73rd overall pick, and the cornerback fell to them anyway. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Steal is underselling it; TreVeyon Henderson at slot 107 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. The roster fit checks out.
