Somebody in the 120th pick was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Eagles sat still while Renardo Green, the No. 71 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium.
A whole weekend of picks and interior defensive lineman is somehow still a want. The trade work was a quiet net positive.
They went 7 of 9 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for. Almost all the early capital went to that side of the ball.
Good work on the whole, with interior defensive lineman the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 22 they get an anchor for the offensive line at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
In the 25th pick they get a go-to option on the outside. The biggest hole, addressed.
The board fumbled Renardo Green all the way to No. 120, and they scooped it up. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Jordan Magee at pick No. 161 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
A slide stopped in pick 169, with Isaiah Davis worth more than the price. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
A tight end of that caliber at the Round 5 slot is the definition of value, full stop. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
No edge and no loss on Decamerion Richardson in Round 5, Pick 36; it is a wash and a sensible one. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
By-the-book stuff, Zion Tupuola-Fetui at the 210th overall pick squarely in line with his ranking. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
