The rest of the league will want that one back. Isaiah Davis tumbling to the Eagles in the Round 6 slot is a gift they did not have to think twice about. No fireworks, but a solid B.
They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up. They will need Trotter Jr. to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the edge rusher spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 22 they get a red-zone target to build around, and a steal at that. A clean fit for the roster.
The board fumbled Tyler Guyton all the way to pick No. 50, and they scooped it up. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Jeremiah Trotter Jr. in the 58th overall pick is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
You do not let a cornerback like Khyree Jackson reach pick 120 and blink. They did not. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Jarrian Jones in Round 5, Pick 25 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Steal is underselling it; Mason McCormick at the Round 5 slot is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Circle this one: Beau Brade at No. 172 is a fall that decides a draft. The roster fit checks out.
They robbed the room for Isaiah Davis here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
