The one they had to fix is still broken. The Cardinals left quarterback untouched, and that omission hangs over an otherwise reasonable haul. No fireworks, but a solid B.
The roster is better shaped than it was, with wide receiver chief among the fixes.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 4 they get a weapon on the perimeter. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Chris Braswell in the 27th pick is fair value, right on his grade. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
No edge and no loss on Chop Robinson in the Round 2 slot; it is a wash and a sensible one. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
They paid sticker price for Zach Frazier in pick 66, and that is fine. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
A market-rate linebacker, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Junior Colson. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
By-the-book stuff, McKinnley Jackson at slot 90 squarely in line with his ranking. It fills a real need, too.
No drama and no debate, Dominick Puni went about where he belonged in the 104th overall pick. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
A reasonable price with a little left over, MarShawn Lloyd in Round 4, Pick 33. The roster fit checks out.
A straight-up fair deal on Jaheim Bell at the 140th pick, value and slot in agreement. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
They took Michael Wiley at par in Round 6, Pick 13, which is nothing to complain about. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
They did well to land Brian Ugwu in No. 225, just ahead of his grade. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
J.J. Weaver at pick No. 227 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
