The Raiders kept it disciplined and banked a B.

The rest of the league had time to spare on Michael Pratt; the Raiders did not wait, grabbing him 96 spots ahead at pick 44.

Dixon at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped tight end, which is a strange place to end up.

The veteran additions, D.J. Humphries chief among them, give the class a floor the rookies alone would not. Value over need was the throughline, for better and worse.

In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.27 · Pick 27 · Darius Robinson · DL-EDGE · rank 38
In the 27th overall pick they get a quarterback's worst nightmare, reach and all. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
R2.12 · Pick 44 · Michael Pratt · QB · rank 140
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Michael Pratt well ahead of where he belonged. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
R3.13 · Pick 77 · Christian Haynes · OG · rank 62
A quiet steal in pick No. 77: Christian Haynes for less than the market said. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
R3.28 · Pick 91 · Dadrion Taylor-Demerson · S · rank 87
Dadrion Taylor-Demerson in the 91st pick lands just on the right side of the ledger. A minor itch, scratched.
R4.12 · Pick 112 · Cam Hart · CB · rank 101
Cam Hart in slot 112 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
R5.12 · Pick 148 · Dillon Johnson · RB · rank 167
They reached into another round for Dillon Johnson, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
R6.33 · Pick 208 · Logan Lee · DL · rank 211
A market-rate interior defensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Logan Lee. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
R7.3 · Pick 223 · Johnny Dixon · CB · rank 190
You do not let a cornerback like Johnny Dixon reach slot 223 and blink. They did not. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
R7.9 · Pick 229 · Ryan Flournoy · WR · rank 203
A top-tier wide receiver at a bargain, Ryan Flournoy in Round 7, Pick 9, plain and simple. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
R7.35 · Pick 255 · Ethan Driskell · OT · rank 265
The board had cheaper options than Ethan Driskell at pick 255, and it noticed. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
