The search is over. The Raiders handed the keys to Bo Nix, and the whole operation now runs on his development. Some smart calls, some head-scratchers, and a C- in the wash.
The trade table is where this weekend went wrong. If one pick saves this weekend, it is Tampa.
The edge rusher spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.
If Bo Nix and a couple of the gambles land, hindsight will be kinder than this grade.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get a franchise quarterback at fair value.
In Round 1, Pick 25 they get an anchor for the offensive line, and a steal at that. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Jeremiah Trotter Jr. at pick 43 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Somehow T.J. Tampa was still sitting there in No. 67, and they pounced on premier cornerback value. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Christian Mahogany at pick No. 75 is a conviction pick that outran the value. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Kiran Amegadjie at the 111th pick is money in the bank, a offensive lineman taken below his worth. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
They paid sticker price for Howard Cross III in the 116th overall pick, and that is fine. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
They did well to land Payton Wilson in slot 148, just ahead of his grade. Insurance at a position that did not really ask for it.
Ricky Pearsall in the Round 6 slot is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
A straight-up fair deal on Reuben Fatheree II at the 232nd pick, value and slot in agreement. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
