Start where it matters. The Raiders took Bo Nix to run the offense for the next decade, and every other decision this weekend bends around that one.
If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through edge rusher. Every board in the league had Jackson lower, and that gap is the story.
A modest surplus at the table, banked quietly.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the edge rusher spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 31 they get a long-term answer under center at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
Kingsley Suamataia at the 59th pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
A straight-up fair deal on Patrick Paul at slot 66, value and slot in agreement. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
They paid a round early for Trey Benson in pick 71, more than the board wanted. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
A real head-scratcher, Khyree Jackson in Round 3, Pick 13 is miles ahead of his ranking. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
No edge and no loss on Caelen Carson in the 89th overall pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
They paid up for Cole Bishop at pick No. 90 when waiting would have done the job. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
The board had cheaper options than Braelon Allen at the Round 3 slot, and it noticed. It fills a real need, too.
