You could see the war room lean forward. Quinshon Judkins at slot 164 is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did.
The cost of the Alexander reach is exactly the players who went right after him. Leaving cornerback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but cornerback.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 31 they get the heartbeat of the defense at a price that makes it sweeter. More want than need.
No edge and no loss on Jalen Royals in the 63rd pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
A wild overpay on Darius Alexander in Round 3, Pick 31, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Billy Bowman Jr. slipping to No. 128 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
This one needs a full-page explanation: Luke Lachey in the Round 5 slot, miles early. It fills a real need, too.
