You build a draft on nights like this. Johnny Dixon had no business being available in pick No. 210, and the Eagles did the only sane thing and turned in the card. It does the job without flash, and the B reflects it.
A whole weekend of picks and safety is somehow still a want. If Jefferson pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but safety.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get a ballhawk on the outside. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
A straight-up fair deal on Adisa Isaac at No. 50, value and slot in agreement. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
They took Xavier Worthy at par in slot 53, which is nothing to complain about. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
They paid sticker price for Tyler Davis in pick No. 120, and that is fine. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
No drama and no debate, Walter Rouse went about where he belonged in Round 5, Pick 25. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
No edge and no loss on Javion Cohen in the 171st pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
A reach for Jordan Jefferson in pick 172; a little patience would have been rewarded. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
