Call it larceny. Raheim Sanders sat on the board until the 244th pick, and the Raiders did not need to be asked twice. The bottom line is a respectable B.
Davis has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. They have staked the next five years on Shedeur Sanders, which is the only story that really matters here. For all the activity, cornerback went untouched, which is hard to explain.
In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 6 they get their guy under center for the next decade. A real need, handled.
A quiet steal in slot 41: Kenneth Grant for less than the market said. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
They paid sticker price for Jayden Higgins in the Round 3 slot, and that is fine. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Kaleb Johnson in pick No. 73 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
They barely believed it either: Deontae Lawson still on the board at the 107th overall pick. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
They let Keon Sabb come to them and pounced at Round 4, Pick 19. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Joshua Gray at slot 179 is the proof. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Jasheen Davis at pick 216 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
A big swing on Nick Nash at the 222nd pick, well ahead of any board in the building. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Steal is underselling it; Raheim Sanders at No. 244 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A need, and now a little less of one.
