Minnesota Vikings

The Vikings left with their quarterback, and a B to match.

They finally answered the question that shadows every other one. Jayden Daniels is the Vikings' quarterback, full stop.

The Smith-Wade steal is the beam this whole class leans on. A whole weekend of picks and wide receiver is somehow still a want.

They are betting McMahon proves the room right and everyone else wrong.

In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.11 · Pick 11 · Jayden Daniels · QB · rank 8
In pick 11 they get the face of the franchise. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
R4.8 · Pick 108 · Zak Zinter · OG · rank 95
Zak Zinter in No. 108 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
R4.30 · Pick 130 · DJ James · CB · rank 113
A tidy bit of business in the 130th overall pick, where DJ James graded well above the range. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
R4.36 · Pick 136 · Darius Robinson · DL-EDGE · rank 121
A quiet steal in the Round 4 slot: Darius Robinson for less than the market said. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
R5.24 · Pick 160 · Edefuan Ulofoshio · LB · rank 156
Edefuan Ulofoshio in Round 5, Pick 24 lands just on the right side of the ledger. A minor need, but a need all the same.
R5.26 · Pick 162 · James Williams · S · rank 134
Somehow James Williams was still sitting there in the 162nd pick, and they pounced on premier safety value. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
R6.1 · Pick 176 · Nehemiah Pritchett · CB · rank 142
They will replay Nehemiah Pritchett at slot 176 for years; that is how good the value is. Depth on depth, at a spot that was hardly crying out.
R6.23 · Pick 198 · Michael Barrett · LB · rank 183
Michael Barrett at pick No. 198 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. It is more luxury than necessity; they were already set here.
R6.27 · Pick 202 · Chau Smith-Wade · CB · rank 162
Steal is underselling it; Chau Smith-Wade at the Round 6 slot is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A luxury on a unit that was already in good shape.
R6.31 · Pick 206 · Jaylen Harrell · DE-EDGE · rank 201
Jaylen Harrell at pick 206 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the edge rusher. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
R6.45 · Pick 220 · Isaiah Davis · RB · rank 184
They barely believed it either: Isaiah Davis still on the board at No. 220. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
R7.10 · Pick 230 · Dylan McMahon · C · rank 243
The board had cheaper options than Dylan McMahon at slot 230, and it noticed. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
