The Seth McLaughlin selection is the head-turner. The Vikings reached 114 spots for him, and it will define how this weekend is remembered. More right than wrong, and a B- to match.
The Henderson value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. The quarterback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. Job largely done: offensive lineman settled and 3 of 8 of the wish list covered.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.
Pick-by-Pick
A top-tier offensive lineman at a bargain, Tate Ratledge in the 55th pick, plain and simple. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
A reasonable price with a little left over, Alfred Collins in Round 3, Pick 5. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
They reached into another round for Seth McLaughlin, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Circle this one: TreVeyon Henderson at the 123rd overall pick is a fall that decides a draft. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Somehow Daylen Everette was still sitting there in pick No. 138, and they pounced on premier cornerback value. A minor itch, scratched.
No edge and no loss on Jaeden Roberts in No. 159; it is a wash and a sensible one. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Steal is underselling it; Ollie Gordon II at the 217th pick is a heist with the alarm still ringing. The roster fit checks out.
