The Raiders spent the pick that matters most on Jayden Daniels, and a roster that has been waiting on a passer can start to take shape. A dependable weekend that grades out a B.
They are betting Rogers proves the room right and everyone else wrong. However the rest shakes out, Wease Jr. at that price is a win they earned.
For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 13 they get a passer to set the clock by. A clean fit for the roster.
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Christian Haynes. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
They took Khyree Jackson at par in the 108th overall pick, which is nothing to complain about. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
A real head-scratcher, Justin Rogers in No. 112 is miles ahead of his ranking. The roster fit checks out.
Circle this one: Ray Davis at the 150th pick is a fall that decides a draft. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
They will replay Isaiah Adams at slot 157 for years; that is how good the value is. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Ty'Ron Hopper in the Round 5 slot is fair value, right on his grade. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Moose Muhammad III at pick No. 190 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
You do not let a cornerback like Justin Walley reach slot 216 and blink. They did not. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
The board fumbled Theo Wease Jr. all the way to pick No. 230, and they scooped it up. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Nathaniel Watson in the 234th overall pick is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. They doubled down on a strength rather than a need.
