Whoever sat across the table from the Texans should ask for a receipt. They cleaned the room out, prying loose far more value than they gave up, and it was the quiet MVP of their weekend. It nets out to a B+, which feels about right.
The edge rusher spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. The Hall reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade.
The Suamataia pick is the one they will point to when this weekend is judged.
All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 27 they get a rangy last line of defense. More want than need.
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Xavier Worthy at Round 2, Pick 23. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Ja'Tavion Sanders in the 56th overall pick. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
A slide stopped in the Round 3 slot, with Kingsley Suamataia worth more than the price. The roster fit checks out.
Marist Liufau in No. 87 is fair value, right on his grade. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
The board had TreVeyon Henderson higher than pick 98, and the running back fell to them anyway. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Cooper Beebe in the 122nd pick is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
They reached a country mile for Gabe Hall at pick No. 175, and the board is aghast. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
