The Eagles did not reach, did not trade up, did not blink. They just waited, and Zak Zinter fell into the Round 5 slot. Call it a sensible B, earned the boring way.
The Wallace pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. On the needs board they went 4 of 9, with cornerback the one that mattered most.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 22 they get a building block for the line at fair value. A real need, handled.
Amarius Mims in pick 50 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
A cornerback of that caliber at the 53rd pick is the definition of value, full stop. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Somehow Jalen McMillan was still sitting there in the 120th overall pick, and they pounced on premier wide receiver value. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
They robbed the room for Braelon Allen here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
A top-tier cornerback at a bargain, Jarvis Brownlee Jr. in Round 5, Pick 35, plain and simple. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Zak Zinter in the Round 5 slot is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. A need, and now a little less of one.
They reached into another round for Trevin Wallace, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. It adds depth where they could use a little.
