The board owed the Raiders one, and it paid up: Cam Skattebo, the No. 109 name on the board, sitting there at pick 216 like a gift left on the doorstep. Good, not great, and the B- says as much.
The whole projection now runs through Jalen Milroe; hit there and everything else looks smarter. The Capehart pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. The edge rusher spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 6 they get protection for the quarterback. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
They reached a country mile for Jalen Milroe at the 29th overall pick, and the board is aghast. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
A slide stopped in Round 3, Pick 4, with Trey Amos worth more than the price. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
No edge and no loss on Malachi Moore in the 73rd pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
They talked themselves into DeMonte Capehart at No. 106, and the board did not agree. The roster fit checks out.
They will replay Cody Simon at the 142nd overall pick for years; that is how good the value is. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Sonny Styles at pick 178 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. It is more luxury than necessity; they were already set here.
Ollie Gordon II at slot 212 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Somehow Cam Skattebo was still sitting there in the Round 6 slot, and they pounced on premier running back value. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Steal is underselling it; Ricky White III at pick No. 222 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
