This is the pick they will still be bragging about in July: Tre Harris, the No. 23 name on the board, stolen at slot 212.
They lost the exchange badly enough to drag the whole class down. They punted on edge rusher, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. They left with cornerback solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
The back end got a real overhaul.
In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 8 they get an island corner. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Circle this one: Wyatt Milum at the Round 3 slot is a fall that decides a draft. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Cam Ward in the 70th pick is a gift, value that borders on unfair. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
They barely believed it either: Jalon Walker still on the board at slot 106. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
The board fumbled Dylan Fairchild all the way to the 146th overall pick, and they scooped it up. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
A running back of that caliber at pick 183 is the definition of value, full stop. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Tre Harris at No. 212 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Jihaad Campbell in Round 6, Pick 41 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. Nice player, but the depth chart did not need him here.
A top-tier cornerback at a bargain, Trey Amos in the 223rd overall pick, plain and simple. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
