The Raiders did not reach, did not trade up, did not blink. They just waited, and Tre Harris fell into the 216th overall pick. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B+.
That quarterback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. They went 6 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.
A small leak at the table, if not a fatal one.
Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 8 they get a potential shutdown corner at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
A offensive lineman of that caliber at No. 69 is the definition of value, full stop. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
They robbed the room for Walter Nolen here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Jalon Walker in the Round 4 slot should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Dylan Fairchild in pick 146 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
The board fumbled Josaiah Stewart all the way to the 183rd pick, and they scooped it up. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Cam Skattebo at the 212th overall pick is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Steal is underselling it; Tre Harris at slot 216 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Trey Amos at No. 223 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
