Call it larceny. Josaiah Stewart sat on the board until the Round 6 slot, and the Raiders did not need to be asked twice. The bottom line is a respectable B.
For all the activity, tight end went untouched, which is hard to explain. The roster is better shaped than it was, with edge rusher chief among the fixes.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but tight end.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 8 they get a ballhawk on the outside at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Wyatt Milum at pick No. 39 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
You do not let a quarterback like Cam Ward reach slot 69 and blink. They did not. The roster fit checks out.
They will replay Jalon Walker at the Round 3 slot for years; that is how good the value is. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Dylan Fairchild in the 106th pick is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Somehow Walter Nolen was still sitting there in the 146th overall pick, and they pounced on premier interior defensive lineman value. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Tre Harris at No. 183 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Taking Cam Skattebo in Round 6, Pick 37 is close to grand larceny; a running back that good had no business lasting this long. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Steal is underselling it; Josaiah Stewart at No. 216 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
The board fumbled Trey Amos all the way to pick No. 223, and they scooped it up. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
