The one they had to fix is still broken. The Eagles left interior defensive lineman untouched, and that omission hangs over an otherwise reasonable haul. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B+.
The Hopper pick is the one they will point to when this weekend is judged. The dealing nudged the ledger their way without much fuss.
On the needs board they went 6 of 9, with cornerback the one that mattered most.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the interior defensive lineman spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 22 they get a lockdown presence outside. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
A tidy little value on Keon Coleman in pick No. 50, a step better than break-even. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
They did well to land Jonah Elliss in the Round 2 slot, just ahead of his grade. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Tykee Smith in pick 97 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
A straight-up fair deal on Cedric Gray at Round 4, Pick 35, value and slot in agreement. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Javion Cohen slid further than he should have, and the 160th overall pick is lovely value for the offensive lineman. A need, and now a little less of one.
LaDarius Henderson at the 170th pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Ty'Ron Hopper slipping to slot 171 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. They doubled down on a strength rather than a need.
Joe Milton III at the 178th pick is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Sheridan Jones in pick No. 240 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
