For all the boxes ticked, the Eagles skipped the loudest one: interior defensive lineman is exactly as bare as it was.
Getting Hadden where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class. Job largely done: cornerback settled and 6 of 9 of the wish list covered.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but interior defensive lineman.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 22 they get a quarterback's worst nightmare. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Fair-plus on Edgerrin Cooper, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. A minor itch, scratched.
A market-rate safety, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Kamren Kinchens. It fills a real need, too.
They paid sticker price for Braelon Allen in pick No. 104, and that is fine. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Johnny Wilson is a better player than the 136th pick suggests; smart patience, rewarded. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
They read the board right and Jarrian Jones was the payoff at No. 160. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Mason McCormick in Round 5, Pick 34 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
