The one hole that towered over the rest is filled. The Vikings spent their marquee pick on Caleb Williams, and for the first time in a while there is a real answer at quarterback. More right than wrong, and a B to match.
On value alone, Knight makes the weekend a net positive. The Guerendo reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade.
That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 11 they get a franchise quarterback at a price that makes it sweeter. The biggest hole, addressed.
They went early on Jackson Powers-Johnson in the 42nd overall pick, and the value did not follow. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
No drama and no debate, Ray Davis went about where he belonged in Round 4, Pick 9. The roster fit checks out.
Leonard Taylor III at pick No. 130 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Somehow Kris Abrams-Draine was still sitting there in No. 145, and they pounced on premier cornerback value. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Jaylin Simpson at the Round 5 slot is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the cornerback. They doubled down on a strength rather than a need.
Circle this one: Tyrice Knight at pick 166 is a fall that decides a draft. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Isaiah Williams. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Isaac Guerendo at the Round 7 slot is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
