Every swap seemed to tilt away from the Raiders, and the value they bled adds up to real damage. Hard to defend, and the D- reflects that.
Cam Ward gives the offense a face and a plan, and the grade leans heavily on whether he hits. They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it. Landing Gordon II that late papers over a lot of smaller sins.
The roster is better shaped than it was, with cornerback chief among the fixes.
It is a steep hill from here, and the grade knows it.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 6th overall pick they get their guy under center for the next decade at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
They read the board right and Kenneth Grant was the payoff at the 33rd pick. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Tyler Booker at slot 37 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
A tidy bit of business in No. 67, where TreVeyon Henderson graded well above the range. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Isaiah Bond in pick No. 68 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
They took Darien Porter at par in the Round 3 slot, which is nothing to complain about. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Good price on Kevin Winston Jr. in pick 107, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
By-the-book stuff, Oronde Gadsden II at Round 5, Pick 5 squarely in line with his ranking. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Nice patience on Bhayshul Tuten, who had no business lasting to pick No. 182. It fills a real need, too.
Ollie Gordon II in the 214th pick is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
