Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Eagles were there to profit. Roger Rosengarten, the No. 145 name on the board, should have been long gone before the 170th pick.
If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through interior defensive lineman. Green has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 22nd pick they get an island corner. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
They did well to land Xavier Worthy in the 60th overall pick, just ahead of his grade. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Jeremiah Trotter Jr. in pick 61 is fair value, right on his grade. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Brandon Dorlus in slot 92. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Trey Benson at the Round 3 slot nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. The roster fit checks out.
They liked Renardo Green enough to skip the value, taking him in No. 99. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Johnny Wilson in Round 4, Pick 34 lands just on the right side of the ledger. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
The board fumbled Roger Rosengarten all the way to pick No. 170, and they scooped it up. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Jaheim Bell in slot 171 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. It fills a real need, too.
Ty'Ron Hopper at Round 6, Pick 3 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. They doubled down on a strength rather than a need.
They let Johnny Dixon come to them and pounced at the Round 6 slot. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
