The Raiders clearly saw something nobody else did in Thor Griffith, taking him 102 picks ahead of his grade. The board is not convinced. The bottom line is a respectable B-.
Landing Jackson that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. Jalen Milroe gives the offense a face and a plan, and the grade leans heavily on whether he hits. Leaving cornerback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.
It is not that Campbell is a bad player; it is that the Raiders had louder needs to answer first.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 6th overall pick they get juice off the edge at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
In No. 31 they get a long-term answer under center, a steep price for the projection.
Value with a capital V on Jalon Walker in Round 2, Pick 5, a genuine coup. It adds depth where they could use a little.
A running back of that caliber at slot 68 is the definition of value, full stop. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
A curious use of the 73rd pick. Cornerback and tight end needed the pick; a linebacker in Jihaad Campbell did not.
They went early on Kyren Lacy in pick No. 106, and the value did not follow. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
They barely believed it either: Kevin Winston Jr. still on the board at Round 4, Pick 27. A minor need, but a need all the same.
They reached into another round for Joshua Gray, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Thor Griffith well ahead of where he belonged. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
This one needs a full-page explanation: Kaden Prather in the 212th pick, miles early. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Shilo Sanders in the Round 6 slot is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. Pure best-available; the position was not exactly begging.
A big swing on Power Echols at pick 222, well ahead of any board in the building. Depth on depth, at a spot that was hardly crying out.
They robbed the room for Ja'Quinden Jackson here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
