Somewhere a general manager is explaining how Wyatt Milum got past him. The Raiders do not have to explain a thing at pick 222. Little to argue with here, and the A- says so.
They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own. The edge rusher spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.
Few war rooms will sleep better than this one tonight.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get a press-man option on the boundary. The biggest hole, addressed.
Ashton Jeanty at Round 2, Pick 5 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
A quarterback of that caliber at pick No. 68 is the definition of value, full stop. It fills a real need, too.
They robbed the room for Jalon Walker here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Steal is underselling it; Armand Membou at pick 143 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Taking Jihaad Campbell in No. 180 is close to grand larceny; a linebacker that good had no business lasting this long. Pure best-available; the position was not exactly begging.
Tre Harris in the 215th overall pick should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Circle this one: Wyatt Milum at the 222nd pick is a fall that decides a draft. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
