The best pick of the weekend was also the simplest. The Raiders watched Quinshon Judkins slide 69 picks past his grade and did not hesitate.
If Travis pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. The edge rusher hole is the one line item this class does not answer.
Cornerback is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it. The weekend tilted hard toward the defense.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 6 they get a potential shutdown corner. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Omarion Hampton in pick No. 37 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Circle this one: Jalon Walker at slot 68 is a fall that decides a draft. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Tyleik Williams in the 73rd pick is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
A slide stopped in Round 4, Pick 5, with Tez Johnson worth more than the price. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
A running back of that caliber at No. 142 is the definition of value, full stop. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Value with a capital V on Willie Lampkin in the Round 6 slot, a genuine coup. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
A clean, defensible pick in the 212th overall pick with a little surplus value in Seth McLaughlin. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
They left a pile of value on the table to take Shilo Sanders this early at pick 216. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Jalen Travis in No. 222 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
