Las Vegas Raiders

Good, not great, for the Raiders: B.

If confidence were a draft strategy, the Raiders would have aced it. Isaac Guerendo at the 86th overall pick is 52 spots clear of where he belonged. A dependable weekend that grades out a B.

Legette falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped quarterback, which is a strange place to end up.

A modest surplus at the table, banked quietly. Edge rusher is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

Good work on the whole, with quarterback the one box left unchecked.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.19 · Pick 19 · JC Latham · OT · rank 15
In the 19th pick they get a cornerstone up front. Exactly the need they had to hit.
R2.20 · Pick 52 · T.J. Tampa · CB · rank 58
No edge and no loss on T.J. Tampa in the 52nd overall pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
R2.27 · Pick 59 · Cade Stover · TE · rank 83
Cade Stover at pick No. 59 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. The roster fit checks out.
R3.13 · Pick 77 · Xavier Legette · WR · rank 52
They will replay Xavier Legette at the Round 3 slot for years; that is how good the value is. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
R3.23 · Pick 86 · Isaac Guerendo · RB · rank 138
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Isaac Guerendo well ahead of where he belonged. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
R3.36 · Pick 99 · Kris Abrams-Draine · CB · rank 91
The board had Kris Abrams-Draine higher than Round 3, Pick 36, and the cornerback fell to them anyway. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
R4.12 · Pick 112 · Brennan Jackson · DE-EDGE · rank 124
They liked Brennan Jackson enough to skip the value, taking him in the 112th overall pick. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
R4.23 · Pick 123 · Beaux Limmer · C · rank 147
They left a pile of value on the table to take Beaux Limmer this early at slot 123. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
R5.12 · Pick 148 · Jordan Magee · LB · rank 161
They jumped the gun on Jordan Magee, taking him earlier than his grade liked. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
R6.33 · Pick 208 · Jha'Quan Jackson · WR · rank 188
Jha'Quan Jackson in No. 208 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
R7.3 · Pick 223 · Steele Chambers · LB · rank 226
Steele Chambers in the Round 7 slot is exactly on the number, no argument either way. They doubled down on a strength rather than a need.
R7.9 · Pick 229 · KT Leveston · OT · rank 219
Quietly one of the better values of the day, KT Leveston at the 229th pick. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
R7.34 · Pick 254 · Jacob Monk · OT · rank 236
Steal is underselling it; Jacob Monk at pick No. 254 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
